It was an electrifying moment among Nigerians resident in Turkey as they have held an end of year bash cum gala night.
Unlike before, the colourful event witnessed the presence of all the Members of the Nigerian Community Turkey, led by the ebullient President, Prince Emre Magboh.
This was held in commemoration of the year ending, 2022 for NICOT members, as well as avail them the opportunity to set new agendas for the year coming, 2023.
The occasion was tagged “NIGHT FOR NICOT PATRIOTS” held at the Taxim Hill Hotel In Istanbul-Turkey on the 3rd of December, 2022 with H.E Ambassador Ismaila Abba Yusuf represented by the Consular Immigration Education Nigerian Embassy, Ankara, Mr. Ado Yakasai and with other highly respected dignitaries in attendance.
In an opening speech, President of NICOT, Prince Magboh thanked God for the successes achieved in the 2022 NICOT calendar year, stating that Nigerian Embassy, NICOT and her Executives worked selflessly to assist members and Nigerians in Turkey whenever they beckoned on them.
The President of the community further explained that the event tagged “A Night For NICOT Patriots” celebrates key players of the community since inception, noting that Amb. Ismaila Yusuf Abba and other awardees were found worthy owing to their countless contributions to the community and Nigerians in Turkey.
Representative of H.E Ambassador Ismaila Abba, Mr. Ado Yakasai who did the honors of presenting the awards in a statement applauded the efforts of the community, as he pledged the Embassy’s continued assistance to NICOT and Nigerians in Turkey.
The event further witnessed the inauguration of the Chairman, Constitutional Governing Body, Mr. Ariwodo Henry, and Chairman Executive Council, Mr. Jide Martins into office.
Speaker of the community, Mr. Eric Berkay similarly revealed the activities of the community from 2021 to 2022, while the newly inaugurated chairman of NICOT Executive Chairman in his statements enumerated the voyage of the community under his leadership and revealed a blueprint for his new reign in office.
Children added more color to the event as they displayed their talent to the admiration of guests, they earned medals for their performance while members of the Executives council received certificates of recognition for their efforts towards the community.
As garnered, the occasion played host to notable guests within Turkey and a first of its kind after the lock-down.
